Your initial consultation is designed to help us understand your symptoms, health history, and wellness goals so we can develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs.

To get started, you will complete your intake forms, consents, and health questionnaire through our patient portal. Once completed, we will provide you with a comprehensive laboratory order. If you plan on using your insurance for your labs, you can have them drawn at a local Quest Diagnostics location at your convenience. 

After your laboratory results are received, we will schedule your one-hour in-office consultation. During this visit, we will review your medical history, current medications, symptoms, lifestyle factors, and any previous hormone or thyroid treatments. We will also discuss concerns such as fatigue, weight changes, sleep issues, low libido, mood changes, brain fog, and other symptoms that may be affecting your quality of life.

A physical examination will be performed during your appointment, and your provider will thoroughly review your laboratory results with you. Together, we will discuss personalized treatment options that may include hormone optimization, thyroid optimization, lifestyle recommendations, nutritional support, supplements, or other therapies based on your individual needs and goals.

If treatment is appropriate, prescriptions may be ordered at that visit. If pellet therapy is determined to be the best option for you, your pellet insertion appointment will be scheduled. Men who are candidates for testosterone replacement therapy may also have the option to enroll in our testosterone subscription program.

Coastal HRT does not bill insurance for office visits or services.  This allows us to provide longer appointment times, personalized treatment plans, comprehensive evaluations, and direct access to your provider without many of the restrictions often associated with insurance-based care.  

Some FDA-approved prescriptions may be covered by insurance at your local pharmacy, while compounded medications and pellet therapy are generally not covered.

If you have insurance coverage, some laboratory testing can be processed through your insurance when using Quest Diagnostics, depending on your individual insurance plan and benefits.  We also offer transparent cash pay options for laboratory testing, for those who prefer that option. In many cases, patients find that our self-pay laboratory pricing is comparable to or less expensive than using insurance, particularly when deductibles or out-of-pocket costs apply.

Also, if requested, we can provide an itemized receipt (superbill) that you may submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement.  Coverage and reimbursement vary by plan.
